How to Cancel Birchbox

Cancel your Birchbox subscription in about 5 minutes. If you are on a month-to-month plan, you can cancel directly from your account settings. Multi-month plans require you to wait until the term ends before cancellation takes effect.

The standard way to cancel Birchbox is through your account on the Birchbox website. Month-to-month subscribers can cancel at any time, while multi-month plan holders can turn off auto-renewal so the subscription ends when the current term expires.

1Log In to Birchbox
Open your web browser and go to birchbox.com. Sign in with the email address and password associated with your Birchbox account.
2Open Account Settings
Hover over your name in the top-right corner of the page. In the dropdown menu that appears, click Account Settings.
3Go to Subscriptions
On the Account Settings page, find and click the Subscriptions section. This is where you manage your active Birchbox plan.
4Cancel or Turn Off Auto-Renewal
If you are on a month-to-month plan, click Cancel Subscription. If you are on a 3, 6, or 12-month plan, click Turn Off Auto-Renewal instead. Multi-month plans cannot be canceled mid-term, but turning off auto-renewal ensures you are not charged again once your current term ends.
5Confirm Cancellation
Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your decision. Birchbox may ask for a reason or present a retention offer — decline if you want to proceed. Check your email for a cancellation confirmation from Birchbox.
If you have already been billed for the current month, your cancellation takes effect at the next billing cycle. You will still receive your box for the month you have already paid for.
You can also cancel by emailing info@birchbox.com or by scheduling a call with a Discovery Specialist through support.birchbox.com. These are useful alternatives if you run into issues with the website method.

Annual vs Monthly Plan Differences

Birchbox offers both month-to-month and multi-month (3, 6, and 12-month) subscription plans. How you cancel depends on which plan you have:

Month-to-month plan: You can cancel at any time through your Account Settings. Your cancellation takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. If you have already been billed for the current month, you will receive that month's box and will not be charged again.

3, 6, or 12-month plan: These plans involve a term commitment and cannot be canceled mid-term. You will continue to receive boxes for the duration of your prepaid term. However, you can turn off auto-renewal at any time within your Account Settings or by emailing info@birchbox.com. This prevents Birchbox from charging you when your current term expires.

If you are unsure which plan type you have, check the Subscriptions section in your Account Settings. Your plan type and renewal date are displayed there.

Refund Policy

Birchbox does not issue refunds for canceled subscriptions. Here is what to expect based on your situation:

Month-to-month subscribers: Cancellation does not trigger a refund for the current billing period. You retain access to the service and will receive your box for any month you have already paid for.

Multi-month plan subscribers: Prepaid amounts are non-refundable. If you paid upfront for a 3, 6, or 12-month plan, you will receive all remaining boxes in your term but cannot get a refund for unused months.

All sales are final: Birchbox's policy states that all sales are final and non-refundable. They do not accept returns or exchanges on subscription boxes.

If you believe you were charged in error or have a billing dispute, contact Birchbox support at info@birchbox.com or through their Help Center. You can also dispute unauthorized charges directly with your bank or credit card company.
