Will I lose access immediately?

Paid Premium continues until your next billing date. If you cancel during a zero-priced free trial, your account switches to free immediately and that trial cannot be reactivated. Check your provider's confirmation if a partner manages your plan.

Can I pause instead of canceling?

Check the options shown for your plan in Manage your plan. Do not assume that pausing is available or that selecting a different option stops renewal; verify your plan status after making a change.

What happens to my playlists and saved music?

Spotify keeps your playlists, saved songs, and listening history when you switch to the free tier. You can still log in and stream with ads. Downloaded offline tracks will no longer be accessible until you resubscribe.

How do I know which billing method I used?

Check your email for past Spotify receipts — they indicate whether you were billed by Spotify, Apple, or Google. You can also visit spotify.com/account and look at the Payment section to see your billing source.

Can I cancel Spotify for someone else?

Only the account holder or plan manager can cancel. If you are a member of a Family or Duo plan, you can remove yourself from the plan, but only the plan manager can cancel the entire subscription.

What if I can't cancel online?

If you are having trouble canceling through the website or app store, contact Spotify Support through their [online chat](https://support.spotify.com/us/article/contact-us/). Spotify does not offer phone support, but their chat agents can process the cancellation for you.

How to Cancel Spotify Premium (Paid Plans and Free Trials)

Cancel Spotify Premium through the provider that bills you. Paid plans continue until the next billing date; zero-priced trials end immediately.

First check who bills you under Manage your plan. If Spotify manages your plan, select Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation. If a partner bills you, use the provider's contact link under Payment. Using an iPhone or Android phone does not by itself determine your billing provider.

For a plan managed by Spotify, use the account page in a computer or mobile browser. Check whether you have a paid plan or a zero-priced trial before confirming cancellation.

1Go to Your Spotify Account

Open a web browser and navigate to spotify.com/account. You can do this from any computer or mobile browser.

2Sign In

Log in with the email address and password tied to your Spotify account. If you use social login (Facebook, Apple, or Google), select the corresponding sign-in option.

3Open Your Plan Settings

Open Manage your plan and check Payment to identify who bills you.

4Select Cancel Subscription

If Spotify manages your plan, select Cancel subscription. If a partner bills you, use its contact link under Payment instead.

5Confirm Your Cancellation

Follow the confirmation prompts for your plan.

6Check When Premium Ends

Check your account for the end date. Paid Premium continues until the next billing date; a zero-priced free trial ends immediately and cannot be reactivated.

If you're the manager of a Family or Duo plan, canceling removes Premium for all members on the plan. Let everyone on the plan know before you cancel. Individual plan members cannot cancel the plan — only the plan manager can.

On the App Store (iOS)

Check your receipt and Spotify's Payment details first. Use the Apple steps only if Spotify appears as an active subscription billed by Apple. Otherwise, use the Spotify account page or the billing partner listed there.

1Open iPhone Settings

Tap the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. This is the gray gear icon found on your home screen.

2Tap Your Apple ID

At the top of the Settings menu, tap your name and Apple ID banner. This opens your Apple ID account management screen.

3Select Subscriptions

Tap Subscriptions from the list. You will see all active and expired subscriptions linked to your Apple ID.

4Select Spotify

Find Spotify in your list of active subscriptions and tap it. If Spotify is not listed, check the billing provider on your Spotify account page.

5Cancel the Subscription

Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the confirmation prompts. Read the end date shown by Apple rather than assuming the same timing applies to every trial.

Canceling Premium does not delete your Spotify account or playlists. Check the cancellation confirmation for when your plan ends.

On Google Play (Android)

Spotify supports Google Play billing on Android. Use these steps only if Spotify is listed as an active subscription in your Google Play account. If it is not listed, check Manage your plan on Spotify for the correct billing route.

1Open Google Play Store

Launch the Google Play Store app on your Android device. You can also go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions in any web browser.

2Access Your Profile

Tap your profile icon in the top right corner of the Play Store to open the account menu.

3Go to Payments & Subscriptions

Select Payments & subscriptions from the menu, then tap Subscriptions. This displays all your active Google Play subscriptions.

4Select Spotify

Find Spotify in the subscriptions list and tap it. If Spotify is not listed, your billing is handled directly by Spotify or another provider.

5Cancel Your Subscription

Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen prompts. Check the displayed end date, especially for a trial.

If you subscribed through a mobile carrier or internet provider, neither Google Play nor Spotify can cancel it for you. Check your Payment settings page on Spotify for your provider's contact details and cancel through them directly.
