Cancel your HelloFresh meal kit subscription in about 10 minutes. HelloFresh is known for making the cancellation process somewhat difficult, with multiple retention screens and offers you need to decline before reaching the final confirmation. Follow the steps below carefully.
The primary way to cancel HelloFresh is through the website. HelloFresh bills you directly — this is not an App Store or Google Play subscription — so you must cancel through your HelloFresh account.
1Log In to HelloFresh
Open your web browser and go to hellofresh.com. Click Log In in the top right corner and sign in with your email address and password.
2Go to Account Settings
Click your name or profile icon in the top right corner of the page. Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
3Open Plan Settings
In your Account Settings, navigate to the Plan Settings section. This is where HelloFresh manages your subscription details, delivery schedule, and plan preferences.
4Scroll Down and Click Cancel Plan
Scroll to the bottom of the Plan Settings page. Click the Cancel Plan link. It may appear as small text near the bottom — HelloFresh does not make this button prominent.
5Work Through the Retention Screens
HelloFresh will present several screens trying to keep you subscribed. You may be offered a discount, free box, the option to skip weeks, or a plan change. If you want to fully cancel, decline each offer by clicking Continue to cancel or Skip on every screen. There are typically three to five screens to get through.
6Select a Cancellation Reason
Choose a reason for canceling from the list provided. Your selection does not affect the cancellation — pick whichever reason applies and proceed.
7Confirm Your Cancellation
Click the final Cancel Plan or Confirm cancellation button. You will see a confirmation message on screen and receive a confirmation email. Save or screenshot this confirmation for your records.
You must cancel before the weekly order deadline to avoid being charged for your next box. HelloFresh processes orders five days before your scheduled delivery day. For most customers, the cutoff is Sunday at 11:59 PM ET for the following week's delivery. Check your delivery schedule in Account Settings to find your exact cutoff. If you cancel after the deadline, you will still receive and be charged for the next box.
HelloFresh frequently changes the layout of its cancellation flow. If you cannot find the Cancel Plan option, look for text labeled Deactivate or Cancel subscription in your Plan Settings. You can also search the HelloFresh Help Center for current instructions.
On the HelloFresh Mobile App
You can also cancel through the HelloFresh app on iOS or Android. The process is similar to the website but navigated through the app interface.
1Open the HelloFresh App
Launch the HelloFresh app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Sign in if you are not already logged in.
2Go to Your Profile
Tap the Profile icon or Menu button (typically in the bottom navigation bar or top corner). Select Account Settings or Plan Settings.
3Find the Cancel Option
Scroll to the bottom of your Plan Settings screen. Tap Cancel Plan or Deactivate my subscription. The exact wording may vary between app versions.
4Decline Retention Offers
Just like on the website, HelloFresh will show multiple screens offering discounts, free boxes, or the option to skip weeks. Tap through each screen by selecting Continue to cancel or the equivalent decline option.
5Select a Reason and Confirm
Choose a cancellation reason from the list, then tap the final Confirm button to complete the cancellation. Check your email for a confirmation message.
HelloFresh is billed directly through the HelloFresh website and app — not through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Going to your iPhone's Settings or Google Play subscription management will not show HelloFresh as a subscription and will not allow you to cancel. You must cancel through the HelloFresh app or website directly.
If you have trouble canceling through the app, try using the HelloFresh website on a mobile or desktop browser instead. Some users report that the cancellation flow is more reliable on the full website.
HelloFresh Refund Policy
HelloFresh does not offer refunds for boxes that have already been processed and shipped. Once your order passes the weekly cutoff deadline, the charge is final and the box will be delivered.
Here is what to know about refunds:
Before the weekly cutoff: If you cancel or skip before the deadline, you will not be charged for the upcoming delivery. No refund is needed because no charge occurs.
After the weekly cutoff: If you cancel after the cutoff, your next box will still ship and you will be charged. HelloFresh does not refund these orders.
Damaged or missing items: If your delivery arrives with damaged, spoiled, or missing ingredients, you can request a credit or refund by contacting HelloFresh support through the Help Center or the chat feature on the website. Credits are typically applied as a discount on a future box.
Unauthorized charges: If you were charged after successfully canceling, contact HelloFresh support immediately. You can also dispute the charge with your bank or credit card provider.
HelloFresh does not offer prorated refunds for partial weeks or unused meals within a delivered box.
