Step-by-step guide to cancel your Skillshare subscription on the website, iOS App Store, or Google Play. Includes refund policy details.
Cancel your Skillshare subscription in about 5 minutes. The process depends on where you originally signed up, so pick the method that matches your situation below.
If you subscribed directly through the Skillshare website, you need to cancel from a desktop or mobile web browser at skillshare.com. You cannot cancel a web subscription from within the Skillshare mobile app.
1Log In to Skillshare
Open your browser and go to skillshare.com. Sign in with the email address and password you used when you created your account.
2Open Account Settings
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the page and select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
3Go to Membership & Payments
In the left sidebar, click Membership & Payments. This page shows your current plan, billing date, and payment method.
4Click Cancel Membership
Click the Cancel membership link. Skillshare may present you with a discounted offer or ask why you are leaving. You can skip past any retention offers if you want to proceed.
5Follow the Cancellation Prompts
Step through the on-screen prompts. Skillshare will ask you to select a reason for canceling and may show you what you will lose access to.
6Confirm and Verify
Click the final confirmation button to complete the cancellation. Check your inbox for a confirmation email from Skillshare. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
If you signed up for a free trial on the website, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged the full annual fee. Use the same steps above to cancel during your trial period.
On the App Store (iOS)
If you subscribed to Skillshare through Apple's App Store, Skillshare cannot cancel or manage your membership for you. You need to cancel through Apple's subscription settings.
1Open iPhone Settings
Tap the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad home screen.
2Tap Your Apple ID
At the top of the Settings menu, tap your name and Apple ID banner to open your account management screen.
3Select Subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions from the list. You will see all active and expired subscriptions tied to your Apple ID.
4Select Skillshare
Find and tap Skillshare from the list of active subscriptions. If you do not see Skillshare listed, your subscription was not billed through Apple.
5Cancel the Subscription
Tap Cancel Subscription at the bottom of the screen and confirm when prompted. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Apple handles all billing and refunds for App Store subscriptions. To request a refund from Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
On Google Play (Android)
If you subscribed through the Google Play Store, you must cancel through Google Play rather than through Skillshare directly.
Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Play Store to open the account menu.
3Go to Payments & Subscriptions
Select Payments & subscriptions from the menu, then tap Subscriptions. You will see all your active Google Play subscriptions listed here.
4Select Skillshare
Find and tap Skillshare from the list. If it is not listed, your subscription is billed directly through Skillshare's website instead.
5Cancel Your Subscription
Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen prompts to confirm. Your access continues until the end of the current billing cycle.
Google Play subscriptions follow Google's refund policy. To request a refund, visit Google Play Help.
Skillshare Refund Policy
Skillshare's refund policy depends on your plan type and when you request it:
Free trial (7-day): If you signed up for a 7-day free trial on the website and forgot to cancel before it ended, you may be eligible for a refund if you contact Skillshare within 48 hours of being charged. Reach out to help@skillshare.com or submit a ticket through the Skillshare Help Center.
Free trial (14-day or longer): Payments made after a 14-day or longer free trial are not eligible for refunds. This applies to promotional trials offered through partner links.
Annual membership renewals: Skillshare does not offer refunds on membership renewals. However, Skillshare sends a renewal reminder email 30 days before your annual plan renews, giving you time to cancel before you are charged again.
SEPA Direct Debit payments: If you paid through SEPA direct debit, you can request a refund up to 8 weeks after your initial payment.
EU and UK customers: If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you are entitled to a statutory cooling-off period under consumer protection law. If you signed up for a 14-day or longer trial, the trial period counts as your cooling-off window.
One refund per account: If you have already received a refund on your account, additional refund requests are generally not approved.
