Will I lose access immediately?

No. Your YouTube Premium benefits (ad-free viewing, background play, downloads) stay active until the end of your billing period.

What about YouTube Music?

YouTube Premium includes YouTube Music Premium. Canceling Premium also cancels your Music Premium access. If you have a standalone YouTube Music subscription, cancel it the same way.

Google generally does not refund partial billing periods. If you were charged in error, contact [YouTube support](https://support.google.com/youtube) or call (855) 836-3987.

Can I pause instead of canceling?

Yes. YouTube offers a pause option for up to 6 months. During the pause, you are not charged and lose Premium features. Your subscription resumes automatically after the pause period.

On YouTube.com

If you subscribed directly through Google, cancel from the YouTube website.

1Open YouTube Memberships

Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and sign in to the Google account linked to your subscription.

2Manage Your Membership

Find YouTube Premium in your memberships list and click Manage membership.

3Deactivate

Click Deactivate, review the confirmation screen, and confirm. Your Premium benefits stay active until the end of your billing period.

If you manage a YouTube Premium Family plan, canceling removes Premium for all family members. Let everyone know before you cancel.

On the App Store (iOS)

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel through Apple's settings.

Tap Settings on your iPhone, then tap your name at the top to open your Apple ID.

2Go to Subscriptions

Tap Subscriptions to see all your active subscriptions.
