Step 1 — Find the Charge (iOS & Android)

1Open Your Activity Feed

Open the Venmo app and tap the Me tab, then your transaction history (or the receipt/clock icon) to see your payments.

2Spot the Repeating Payment

Look for the same business name and amount on a regular schedule. Tap it to confirm the merchant details and frequency.

3Note the Details

Record the merchant name, amount, and billing date so you can cancel and recognise the charge if it returns.

Step 2 — Cancel With the Merchant

1Sign In to the Merchant

Open the app or website of the company billing you and log into the account tied to the subscription.

2Cancel in Billing Settings

Find Settings → Subscription / Membership / Billing and choose Cancel. If Venmo is the listed payment method, removing it there also helps.

3Save Your Confirmation

Keep the cancellation email or reference number as proof.

Step 3 — Turn Off Auto Reload & Remove the Method

1Disable Auto Reload

Go to Settings → Payment Methods → Auto reload and toggle it off so Venmo stops topping up your balance automatically.

2Remove or Switch the Linked Card

In Settings → Payment Methods, you can remove a linked card or bank that a merchant is pulling from. (Note: removing a method may affect other payments.)

3Contact Venmo Support

If a charge persists, open Settings → Get Help / Contact Us to report it or dispute an unauthorized payment.

Venmo cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf — only the merchant can end the agreement. Removing a payment method or disabling auto reload blocks the money, but you may still owe the merchant or face late fees until you cancel the plan with them directly.
