Will I lose access immediately?

No. Your ChatGPT Plus or Pro features stay active until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier.

OpenAI generally does not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you were charged in error, contact [OpenAI Help](https://help.openai.com) or your app store's support team.

What happens to my conversations?

Your conversation history is preserved after canceling. You can still access past chats on the free tier.

Can I resubscribe later?

If you subscribed directly through OpenAI, cancel from the ChatGPT website.

1Open ChatGPT Settings

Go to chatgpt.com and click your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings.

2Go to Subscription

Click Manage my subscription to open your plan and billing details.

3Cancel Your Plan

Click Cancel plan, review the confirmation screen, and confirm. Your Plus or Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period.

On the App Store (iOS)

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel through Apple's settings.

1Open iPhone Settings

Tap Settings on your iPhone, then tap your name at the top to open your Apple ID.

2Go to Subscriptions

Tap Subscriptions to see all your active subscriptions.

3Cancel ChatGPT
